Application Overview
Timken bearing supply for Transmission Rebuilding
Transmission and gearbox rebuilders replace bearings on input, output and countershaft positions as complete rebuild sets. Noise, heat and comebacks often trace back to the wrong internal geometry or incorrect setting. Rebuilders focus on matching the original specification so that specified preload and tolerances can be achieved.
- Match each replacement to the original bearing's specification so the unit can be set to the manufacturer's preload.
- Keep matched or paired bearings together as supplied, without mixing components from different sets.
- Check for special dimensions or features on non-standard positions before treating a catalog size as a direct replacement.
- Submit a full position-by-position rebuild list so cone, cup and assembly gaps can be resolved before quoting.
