Mining Conveyor Gearboxes

Mining operations use spherical, cylindrical and tapered roller bearings in conveyor gearboxes, drive shafts and vibrating screens. These positions face heavy loads, fine abrasive dust, vibration and continuous operation. When a gearbox fails, the priority is to identify the correct reference quickly and limit downtime.

• Select spherical roller bearings for conveyor and gearbox shafts where heavy load and shaft misalignment occur together.
• Confirm clearance and vibration-duty requirements on screen bearings, since standard specifications may not suit these machines.
• Inspect housing seals and lubricant condition during replacement to keep abrasive dust out of the new bearing.
• Send photos of the old bearing's markings, the gearbox model and the required delivery date when a breakdown is urgent.
